San José, Oct 11, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Andes Technology USA Corp., the North American operations headquarters of Andes Technology Corporation, based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, a leading 32/64 supplier to high efficiency and low power bit RISC-V and founding member of RISC-V International, today announced a major expansion of its operations in the United States. Andes Technology USA is dramatically increasing its engineering workforce both at headquarters in San Jose, Calif., And at its research and development center in Portland, Oregon. Andes Technology USA is looking for engineers in the United States and Canada to work remotely or in the Portland or San Jose offices. Positions are available for design engineers, verification engineers and field application engineers.

Andes Technology USA Corp. was formed in 2015 as a California company at the same time as Andes Technology Corp. joined RISC-V International. After Andes took the RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA) as the basis to form its fifth generation architecture, AndeStar â„¢ V5 and began to develop V5 processor IPs, the US operation was formed. to be close to the first customers to adopt the new ISA. The American subsidiary set up an R&D laboratory shortly after and began to develop architectures for high-end RISC-V processors. In less than a year, the investment with the leading engineering team in Taiwan resulted in the first commercial RISC-V Vector IP processor which has so far won nearly 10 projects, including data center projects. from a large OEM.

“Major Semiconductor Companies Around the World Adopting RISC-V ISA and RISC-V International Working Groups Rapid Development of RISC-V ISA Extensions Stimulates Demand for Engineers to Keep Up with the Rapid Rate of New Development technologies, ”said Emerson Hsiao, Andes Technology USA Corp. Director of operations. “RISC-V customers appreciate the growing number of extensions available as well as their ability to customize the architecture to better meet their processing requirements. Our Andes Custom Extensions (ACE) tool makes the customization process easier and less risky. To keep up with RISC-V’s technical developments and meet customer demands, we plan to significantly expand the size of our operation in the United States.

Emerson Hsiao, COO, heads the office, located in the heart of Silicon Valley in San Jose. In June 2018, the US operation added its R&D site in Portland, Oregon, to attract engineers to the Pacific Northwest and Canada. To this day, the US operation continues to develop a new high-end CPU processor architecture. Its most significant achievement is the development of the first RISC-V vector architecture based on the RISC-V International RVV specification. Andes developed the first RISC-V vector architecture based on version V0.8 of the specification and advanced it to the latest version to be ratified.
