Emirates News Agency – WAM delegation attends annual conference of Latin American Information Alliance

MONTEVIDEO, 7th May, 2022 (WAM) — A delegation from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) participated in the annual conference of the Latin American Information Alliance (AIL), held in Montevideo , in Uruguay.
The WAM delegation, led by Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director General of WAM, was present alongside a number of officials and media officers from AIL member countries, which includes 22 TV stations in the region. Latin America and the Caribbean (LATAM).
In his speech at the conference, Al Rayssi asserted that the UAE, with the support of its wise leaders, looks forward to continuing its journey towards fifty new years of achievement and leadership, underscoring its readiness to partner with friendly countries, driven by its belief that fruitful and creative cooperation is the foundation for a more prosperous and sustainable future.
WAM’s presence at the AIL’s annual meeting highlights this vision, as well as the importance of the alliance’s role in promoting joint cooperation, exchanging experiences and developing media work in AIL member states, he noted.
“As we navigate through the challenges imposed on the world over the past few years, we have managed to acquire several insights and we have glimpsed promising opportunities to collaborate and forge partnerships to shape the future. development plans in all countries, we are keen to work together to achieve further development and progress in a vital sector,” explained the Director-General.
Al Rayssi further said that Expo 2020 Dubai, whose success the UAE ensured through deliberate organization, served as an inspiring platform that enabled WAM to build productive partnerships with many media entities. , emphasizing the Agency’s eagerness to strengthen cooperation and implement joint programs that benefit all players in the media sector.
He added: “We are happy to be partners in the Latin American Information Alliance, a partnership that concluded in October last year with the signing of a cooperation agreement between us, and we look forward to continuing our joint work at various levels.”
Al Rayssi invited all AIL member countries to participate in the World Media Congress, which will be held in Abu Dhabi next November and aims to shape the future of the media sector regionally and globally. The event will examine several topics, including digital communication, the impact of artificial intelligence on contemporary media, and the integration of advanced technologies and innovation in the media sector.
In addition, WAM’s Managing Director presented the results of WAM’s bilateral agreements signed with a number of Latin American media institutions during Expo 2020 Dubai.
As part of its participation in the conference, the Brazilian group Banderas Media highlighted the cooperation agreement it recently signed with the Emirates News Agency and its role in improving the exchange of information between the two parts.
