Everton to meet Bologna sporting director over summer move

Everton are set to meet Bologna sporting director Riccardo Bigon, who has traveled to London to discuss potential sales, CalcioNapoli24 reports.
The Toffees have been credited with an interest in midfielder Mattias Svanberg (SportMediaset) and he’s one of the players the Italian should discuss.
The 23-year-old Swede is one of five available players at the club, and Bigon has flown to London ‘to sell them to the Premier League’, according to the report.
Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham, Brentford and Newcastle are also expected to hold talks with the Italian, although the Hammers are apparently eyeing Jerdy Schouten rather than Svanberg.
Both midfielders, plus Scottish left-back Aaron Hickey who is of interest to Arsenal (London Football)Arthur Theate and Riccardo Orsolini are the five players who will be discussed with the six top flight teams.
On offer
Although the picture of relegation is still undefined, there is no time to waste on making plans for next season.
The club will have double the preparation work, with two sets of circumstances still possible.
But assuming the recent upturn in fortunes courtesy of Frank Lampard’s tactical change and Jordan Pickford’s in-goal performance keeps the club in place, then Svanberg appears to be one of the prime targets.
The Sweden international has made 35 Serie A appearances this year, scoring and assisting three goals apiece, and with Fabian Delph set to run out of contract, could be in line to take his place in the squad.
It can’t be ruled out that the Toffees are interested in one of the other four who are set to leave Bologna, especially as Dutchman Schouten fulfills a similar role in midfield.
But Svanberg, who 1000 Cuori Rossoblu is expected to cost around €20m, appears to be the main target and steps are being taken for a potential arrival at Goodison.
