‘He’ll be someone in terms of style and personality’ – Julien Laurens drops ‘guarantee’ on Arsenal summer target

French journalist Julien Laurens has dropped a major clue as to the type of attackers Arsenal will be targeting this summer.
It’s obvious the Gunners urgently need to strengthen up front and that should be their main target as soon as the transfer window reopens this summer.
The north London club lost top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January as the Gabon international moved to Spanish giants Barcelona on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old was clearly at odds with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and was relieved of the captaincy in December due to disciplinary issues.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker was eventually released from his £350,000-a-week deal by the London club, following which Barca offered him a free transfer.
Aubameyang’s departure leaves Arteta with just two ninth-place options in the form of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.
Neither seem like a long-term solution with their contracts expiring in June, having done nothing to warrant new deals.
It is imperative that Arsenal look to sign strikers this summer and Julien Laurens has shed some light on the type of player he will be looking for.
The French journalist told ESPN that quoted by HITC Sport,
“If there is another striker coming. Whether it’s Jonathan David, Alexander Isak, Calvert-Lewin, Watkins, Toney, whoever they choose. It will be someone – I can guarantee you that – under the age of 25.”
“He’ll be someone in terms of style and personality that matches who he wants to be a lot more.”
Who are the strikers to have been linked with Arsenal?
Arsenal have been linked with several strikers across the continent in recent months.
They have been heavily linked with Dusan Vlahovic but the Serbia international left Fiorentina for Juventus in January.
Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak has been another player heavily linked with a move to the Emirates and the 22-year-old Sweden international fits the criteria Areta would be looking for.
The same goes for Lille striker Jonathan David and Everton hitman Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who are 22 and 24 respectively.
However, Ollie Watkins and Raul de Tomas appear to have been left out, both over the age of 25.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney, meanwhile, is just 25 and barely manages to pass the criteria.
