Major League 2 sports pub in Chilliwack hopes to add third patio in outdoor seating expansion – Chilliwack Progress

The Major League 2 Sports Pub hopes to add a third patio to the Sardis operation this summer to bring its outdoor patio total to more than 300 seats.
“Some additional noise and traffic” could result, but it “is not expected to cause significant disruption,” according to the staff report in the March 15 agenda.
The proposed capacity for the new patio is 104 seats, bringing the combined indoor and outdoor space occupancy total to 445 seats for Major League 2.
The terrace request was received by council last week at City Hall. Council voted to schedule a public information meeting on April 5 to gather public input.
Last summer, the area now proposed for a new patio was approved for a temporary patio. The current application under consideration would make this temporary patio layout permanent.
“A noise complaint was recently received in September 2021 but was related to early waste collection and not noise associated with the outdoor patio,” according to the staff report.
In 2018 the pub saw 30 seats added to a rear patio.
“At that time, the existing patio could accommodate up to 110 people and the city had no record of an official complaint,” the report continues. “Since the time of the expansion, the city has registered a formal noise complaint.”
The new patio app came from the Major League 2 Taphouse and Sports Pub, at 45768 Gaetz Street.
A new building being constructed to the south of the pub could lead to future complaints from residents, the report adds.
The total occupancy of the sports pub breaks down into: 137 indoor seats, including 140 on patio 1, 64 on patio 2 and 104 on patio 3.
