NCC was commissioned by Länsgården Fastigheter AB to build a new block comprising a health center and a residential care facility in Örebro. The project will be carried out in two phases with a total order value of approximately 350 million Swedish crowns.

“The new health center premises will be a welcome addition as it will enable us to provide more modern healthcare and meet the needs of patients. The residential care facility will provide an additional 104 places and the proximity to the health center will create a better quality of life for the elderly. Together with NCC and with the well-being of the inhabitants of the region in mind, we can make a place of health and social care in the beautiful district of Skebäck a reality,” says Camilla Peterson, CEO of Länsgården.

The project includes a new block consisting of a health center and a residential care facility being built in Skebäck, eastern Örebro. In the design, considerable attention was paid to the environment given the proximity to Stadsparken (the city park) and the old town of Wadköping.

The project is carried out in two phases. The first phase will cover a three-storey health center with a 50-space underground garage. The building will cover approximately 9,000 square meters.

In the second phase, the current health center will be demolished and a residential care facility of around 10,000 square meters with 100 apartments will then be built. The building will also have premises for day rehabilitation and home care and a large green courtyard.

Buildings are constructed in accordance with Sweden Green Silver Building Council level, imposing strict requirements in terms of energy efficiency, good ventilation and careful choice of materials.

“NCC has considerable expertise in the construction of healthcare premises and residential care facilities; more recently we have completed work on Örebro University Hospital and a new residential care center in Bettorp, also in Örebro. We look forward to creating new, modern healthcare facilities that meet the needs of patients and staff as well as residents and visitors in the beautiful environment around Stadsparken,” says Henrik Landélius, head of NCC Building Sweden.

Preparatory work will begin in January 2022. It is estimated that the health center will be relocated to the new premises at the end of 2023. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2025.

The assignment is a turnkey contract and the order value of approximately 350 million Swedish crowns will be registered in the first quarter of 2022 in the business area NCC Building Sweden.
