SAK’S AFTER JACK

By Robert Grieve

Fashion Sakala admits the Rangers are ready to take revenge on Hibs tomorrow.

The Hibees eliminated Gers from the Premier Sports Cup in Hampden with a stunning 3-1 semi-final victory.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side travel to Easter Road for a vital Premiership clash and forward Sakala said: “In games like this it’s all about revenge.

“What they did to us last week was very bad. We have to react and this is the time for us to react.

“I think it’s a very important game because the league is very tight. We have to keep collecting points and keep winning.

“We are very confident and excited for Wednesday’s game.”

Sakala scored in Gers’ 3-1 win over Livingston this weekend.

The Zambian star has become a huge fan favorite and loves the catchy songs fans sing about him.

He added: “It’s a great motivation when the fans react when I get on the pitch. I really appreciate the support I get from the fans.

“I also really appreciate the song they wrote for me. It’s a very beautiful song and a very beautiful one.

“I can’t seem to get out of it, I always sing it myself when I’m alone!”

“I always have plans for what I can bring to the team. What I’ve done so far looks good, but I’m still hungry for more.

“I still think I have to give more to the club and more to the team, but I hope to keep improving like this.

“It’s always a great motivation for a striker to score too. It’s always a good feeling, especially in big, important games.

“I just thank God that everything is going well. Things are exactly as I want them to be.

“I am very happy and when I score goals I feel happier.”

New Gers boss Van Bronckhorst has revealed striker Jermain Defoe is no longer part of the club’s coaching staff.

The 39-year-old ex-Englishman worked with former boss Steven Gerrard on the training ground.

But Van Bronckhorst said: “At the moment Jermain is still a player and we will only use him as a player. The quality it has is sometimes necessary in games.
