Coventry-based Safetyflex Barriers have beefed up defenses in another European city after securing a major contract in Sweden.

More than 100 kiosks were set up around a shopping parade in Stockholm to protect members of the public from the threat of vehicle attacks.

LED bollards are part of its hostile vehicle (HVM) mitigation street furniture range.

Marcus Gerrard, Director of Safetyflex, said: “With the threat of vehicle attacks ever present, more and more large cities are now opting for Safetyflex Slimline products.

“While traditional tubular steel bollards can be too large and require deep foundations that can disrupt utilities, our line offers a slim, cost-effective solution.

“The Stockholm project offers a strong defense to buyers, using military grade materials that have been tested to stop a car or truck at up to 50 mph.

“Our bollards also include LED lights to illuminate the street at night, which means they don’t compromise public safety or aesthetics.

“We are delighted that we were able to help deliver these new fenders in time for a busy Christmas shopping season.”

The program is the latest in a series of projects that Safetyflex has secured in partnership with Swedish distributor Perimeter Protection Sweden.
